WESFIN FLEX SOLUTIONS

From site control to portfolio optimisation.

Wesfin Flex is being built as a set of coordinated product surfaces: local site control, a unified asset model, an integration environment, managed charging and cloud-level portfolio optimisation.

Commercial aggregation services are not yet live. This page describes the product architecture and target use cases; it does not promise availability of a specific regulated service.
PRODUCT LAYER

Four surfaces. One flexibility model.

Each product owns a different responsibility. The cloud should not know vendor-specific inverter registers, and the local controller should not make market decisions on its own.

01 · PORTFOLIO & MARKET

Wesfin Flex

The cloud layer that combines available asset flexibility into a portfolio and allocates it between local needs and eligible market scenarios.

Role
Portfolio optimisation, forecasting, dispatch, risk, bidding, delivery evidence and settlement.
Sees / works with
  • Available power
  • Stored energy / state of charge
  • Telemetry quality
  • Customer reserves
  • Market commitments
Boundary
It cannot bypass the BMS, grid protection, Wesfin Edge limits or capacity reserved by the customer.
02 · SITE & SAFETY

Wesfin Edge

A local controller that turns heterogeneous equipment into consistent capabilities for Wesfin Cloud.

Role
PCS/BMS/meter/inverter/PLC connectivity, hardware abstraction, local interlocks and safe command execution.
Sees / works with
  • Modbus TCP/RTU
  • CAN
  • MQTT
  • REST API
  • Local equipment state
Boundary
It remains safely operational during an Internet outage and never removes restrictions imposed by lower safety layers.
03 · INTEGRATION & VALIDATION

Wesfin Lab

A sandbox for engineers, integrators and manufacturers to validate device profiles and integration behaviour before production promotion.

Role
Adapter testing, device profiles, telemetry, commands, Home Assistant and future OEM/DIY integrations.
Sees / works with
  • Device profile
  • Test telemetry
  • Sandbox commands
  • Integration evidence
  • Protocol compatibility
Boundary
Lab is not a direct market-access path: production readiness requires separate safety and evidence gates.
04 · MANAGED CHARGING

Wesfin Charge

A controllable-load surface where charging sessions can be coordinated with site limits, tariffs, time windows and future portfolio optimisation.

Role
Driver/operator preferences, charging sessions, OCPP integration, power limits and delivery of real flexibility to Wesfin Flex.
Sees / works with
  • Departure time
  • Energy requirement
  • Charging power
  • Session state
  • Site constraints
Boundary
User priority, safe EVSE operation and local site limits take precedence over cost optimisation or a market signal.
VALUE STACKING

An asset should not be locked into one source of value.

The optimiser compares local and market scenarios over the same time horizon. A dispatch only makes sense when expected value remains positive after electricity cost, degradation, imbalance exposure, fees, technical constraints and non-delivery risk.

BESS

Local value

Peak shaving, self-consumption, solar-surplus management and customer reserve.

Market scenarios

Day-ahead, intraday, balancing and ancillary services only where the asset and portfolio are eligible.

Binding constraints

SoC, power/energy, DoD, C-rate, degradation, warranty throughput, customer reserve and grid limits.

Solar + BESS

Local value

Higher self-consumption, reduced curtailment and smoother import/export.

Market scenarios

Energy scheduling and imbalance reduction; other products only where storage capability and market rules allow.

Binding constraints

Generation forecast, battery headroom, export limit, state of charge and local consumption priority.

EV charging

Local value

Charge in lower-cost hours, respect site capacity and manage peaks.

Market scenarios

Demand response and future aggregated flexibility when charging sessions provide sufficient verifiable availability.

Binding constraints

Departure time, minimum energy by departure, driver priority, EVSE connectivity and site connection capacity.

HVAC / heat / industrial load

Local value

Load shifting, pre-heating/pre-cooling, thermal inertia and process scheduling.

Market scenarios

Demand response and other products only after controllability, response speed and availability are proven.

Binding constraints

Comfort, temperature, process limits, rebound effect, minimum run/off time and local override.

Client economicsВаловий дохід − вартість електроенергії − деградація − небаланси − ринкові/комунікаційні витрати − винагорода Wesfin − податки = чистий дохід клієнта

There is no permanently “best market”. In every interval the system should choose an eligible combination with the highest expected net value after constraints and risk.

ІЄРАРХІЯ БЕЗПЕКИ

The optimiser comes last.

A market signal only has authority inside an already-permitted envelope. Any lower layer can narrow or completely block a command.

  1. 01
    Hardware protection

Physical limits of the equipment and power stage.

  2. 02
    Безпека BMS

Cell, temperature, current, voltage and battery-state protection.

  3. 03
    Grid protection

Protection relays, connection parameters and grid requirements.

  4. 04
    Безпека Wesfin Edge

Local interlocks, quality gates and fail-safe logic.

  5. 05
    Customer reserve

Power or energy the customer retains for site needs.

  6. 06
    Market commitments

Existing commitments that cannot be sold or allocated twice.

  7. 07
    Wesfin optimiser

Optimises only the residual flexibility that is genuinely available.

NEXT STEP

Start with the asset, not the market.

A preliminary assessment helps identify controllability, constraints, the integration path and potential flexibility scenarios before any commercial promise is made.
